Sevenfluoropropane is widely recognized as a quintessential gaseous fire suppression agent, renowned for its exceptional reliability, functionality, and superior firefighting efficiency—qualities that have earned it high praise in the market. However, during its use, we inevitably encounter various challenges: from installation and commissioning to operation and maintenance. It’s akin to buying a car—understanding how to use it properly and maintaining it correctly are equally important concerns for us. So today, let’s dive into a conversation with everyone about the many issues surrounding sevenfluoropropane.
Sevenfluoropropane is widely recognized as a quintessential gaseous fire suppression agent, renowned for its exceptional reliability, functionality, and superior fire-extinguishing efficiency—qualities that have earned it high praise in the market. However, during its use, we inevitably encounter various challenges: from installation and commissioning to operation and maintenance. It’s much like buying a car—understanding how to use it properly and maintaining it correctly are issues we all care about. So today, let’s dive into a conversation with everyone about the many aspects of sevenfluoropropane.
First, we need to understand the installation process—taking the pipeline-type heptafluoropropane system as an example, here's how pipeline-type heptafluoropropane fire suppression equipment is installed:
1. Secure the position in the cylinder room and assemble the storage rack;
2. Based on the drawings or site conditions, properly arrange the cylinder racks, then erect the manifold structure on top of them and secure it firmly.
3. Next, install the selector valve and outlet flange onto the manifold pipe. Be sure to securely fasten the cylinder rack and the initiator bottle rack using expansion screws, ensuring the structure remains stable.
4. Then move the storage bottle onto the bottle rack, connect the corresponding liquid check valve and high-pressure hose, secure them in place, and tighten the bottle clamp.
5. Next, install the other selector valves and the outlet flange; after securing them properly, attach the initiator cylinder and tighten the lock.
6. Install the factory-installed copper pipes according to the design specifications and securely fasten them.
7. Install and activate the solenoid valve afterward. (Note: Remove the safety pin beneath the solenoid valve before officially putting it into use.)
Cabinet-type Heptafluoropropane Gas Fire Extinguishing System Installation Procedure:
1. Based on the site conditions, place the cabinet in the designated or suitable location, then move the storage cylinder into the fire protection cabinet and securely connect it using the factory-installed connecting pipe.
2. Then, install and securely tighten the bottle clamp;
3. After installation, securely fasten the solenoid valve.
4. By now, the cabinet-type equipment has already been installed—now all that’s left is to integrate it with the alarm system and control system, as well as lay out the necessary wiring.
Note: When using officially, remove the safety pin under the solenoid valve.
Debugging
1. Before use, carefully read the system's instruction manual and familiarize yourself with the engineering design plan.
2. During system installation, the storage bottle rack and bottle assemblies should be securely fastened.
3. The piping system must be installed strictly according to the engineering design requirements. The materials, nominal diameters, lengths, surface treatments, routing layouts, and nozzle specifications of the pipes shall be determined by the engineering design in accordance with GB50193-93—and no unauthorized changes are permitted during installation or construction.
4. The piping system must be securely fixed to prevent strong vibrations during fire extinguishing agent release, which could lead to deformation, damage, or even cause structural harm to the building.
5. Check whether the starter is functioning.
6. According to the instructions in the manual and the engineering plan, properly connect peripheral devices such as fire detectors, manual control boxes, audible and visual alarms, and interlocked equipment to the gas fire suppression controller. After the system installation is complete, verify that all wiring connections are correct, and then configure and debug the relevant functions according to the electrical instructions.
7. After debugging is complete, reset the system and ensure it returns to its normal operational state.
8. During the installation and commissioning process, it is essential to strictly follow the provisions of the "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Gas Fire Extinguishing Systems" GB50263-2007.
Safety Usage Requirements
1. Before the fire suppression system is activated, all personnel must evacuate the fire scene within the delay period. After the firefighting operation is complete, staff must first start the ventilation fans to remove exhaust gases before entering the site.
2. The installation location of this device shall meet the following requirements:
(1) The ambient temperature should be between 0°C and 50°C, and the environment must remain dry with good ventilation.
(2) The air should not contain explosive, conductive dust, or harmful substances that could corrode components; otherwise, proper protection must be provided. Additionally, the system must be shielded from vibrations and impacts.
3. Personnel involved in system installation and debugging should be familiar with the system's basic structure, operating principles, performance characteristics, and operational procedures, as well as the fundamental design and working conditions of each valve component.
4. Gas cylinders should be kept away from heat sources. During transportation, handle them with care—lift and unload gently—and strictly prohibit any impacts, laying them horizontally, or storing them upside down.
5. The replacement of the safety diaphragm must be supplied by our company; unauthorized use of untested diaphragms as substitutes is strictly prohibited.
6. During disassembly and assembly, avoid damaging the surfaces to prevent affecting the appearance.
7. Unauthorized personnel should refrain from touching or tampering with the components of this system to avoid accidents.
Maintenance and Care
1. The system is a fire suppression device characterized by a high degree of automation and stringent sealing requirements. To ensure reliable operation, a comprehensive system inspection and maintenance program should be established as prescribed, along with detailed operating procedures. The system must undergo regular inspections, with thorough records kept and signed off by the inspector.
2. The automatic fire suppression controller should be managed by a dedicated person and undergo regular inspections.
3. Regularly inspect the gas fire suppression system; inspection contents and requirements shall comply with the following provisions:
All system components—including storage containers, container valves, solenoid initiators, high-pressure hoses, nozzles, and pressure gauges—should undergo a visual inspection to ensure there is no collision-induced deformation or other mechanical damage, no signs of rust, and that the protective coatings remain intact. Additionally, nameplates must be clearly legible, and manual emergency mechanical operation devices must be positioned correctly.
The pressure indicator for the extinguishing agent inside each storage cylinder should be within the green zone.
High-pressure hoses should show no signs of deformation, cracking, or aging. When necessary, each hose must undergo a hydrostatic strength test and an air-tightness test according to national standards, or it must be replaced.
4. After the fire suppression system is activated, the following components must be returned to their original positions before continued use:
Reset the heptafluoropropane fire suppression controller buttons;
Reset the pressure switch piston;
Reset the manual device of the selector valve;
Reset the launcher's piston;
Replace the sealing diaphragms of the container valve and the actuation valve;
Initiate the recharging of the nitrogen gas cylinder set;
Refill the extinguishing agent according to design specifications; restore the container valve to its original operating condition.
All dismantled pipelines must be installed correctly to ensure a tight seal.
5. For any issues identified during inspection, maintenance, and servicing, if assistance is needed to resolve them, the user unit may notify our company via letter or email.
6. During maintenance and upkeep, it is essential to strictly follow the relevant provisions outlined in the "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Gas Fire Extinguishing Systems" GB50263-2007.
