Detailed Description

Overview of Floor-Mounted Automatic Aerosol Fire Suppression Systems

I. Product Introduction

S The Type Thermal Aerosol Automatic Fire Extinguishing System is the third-generation fire‑extinguishing product developed and manufactured by our company. All technical specifications and performance parameters have successfully passed both the “type‑approval test” conducted by the National Center for Quality Supervision and Inspection of Fixed Fire‑Extinguishing Systems and Fire‑Resistant Components, and the “type‑approval test” for the extinguishing agent. It is currently the ideal replacement for halon‑based fire‑extinguishing equipment in the firefighting sector.

II. Operating Principle of Thermal Aerosol Devices

When the fire alarm control panel in the protected area receives a fire signal from either a smoke detector or a heat detector, it processes the signal through the automatic fire alarm system. CPU After performing the computational assessment, it first issues a fire‑prevention warning signal and, simultaneously, outputs an immediate activation signal to shut down the air conditioning system or automatically lower the fire‑rated roller shutter. When both the smoke detector and the heat detector simultaneously send a composite signal, the controller initiates a delay. 30S The activation signal automatically triggers the thermal aerosol fire suppression system. Upon activation, the system sends a feedback signal to the alarm control panel, illuminating the release indicator light to warn personnel against entering the protected area.

The manual control box is used to start or stop the thermal aerosol device in emergency situations. Regardless of whether the automatic fire alarm control panel is in automatic or manual mode, pressing this switch (after breaking the glass) will immediately activate the thermal aerosol device.

IV. Structure and Composition of Thermal Aerosol Devices, along with Key Product Characteristics

Structural Composition

The fire-extinguishing device consists of four components: a gas generator, an electronic igniter, a dust-removal and cooling chamber, and a housing.

Product Features

1 When the aerosol fire suppression system is activated, it generates a large quantity of aerosol (smoke) that inhibits the combustion reaction, thereby achieving the purpose of extinguishing the fire.

2 . The aerosol (smoke) generated after the thermal aerosol device is activated is non‑toxic, environmentally friendly, non‑corrosive, and does not deplete the atmospheric ozone layer;

3 . Networking a thermal aerosol device with a fire alarm control panel enables rapid, efficient, and comprehensive fire suppression, offering integrated functions of automatic detection, automatic alarming, automatic activation, and manual initiation. It provides unique advantages in extinguishing fires under unattended conditions and in areas that are difficult for firefighters to access.

4 . Supports multiple units connected via network and wired connections, ensuring that the protected space is not affected by cable length;

5 . The system features no piping network, pressure vessel drive units, valves, or pipelines, thereby reducing both floor space and project costs;

6 . The aerosol generator stores solid propellant without leakage, operates at atmospheric pressure, and is safe, reliable, and easy to store and transport.

VI. Installation, System Commissioning, Acceptance Testing, and Maintenance of Thermal Aerosol Fire Suppression Systems

1. Equipment Installation

a. Directly in front of the fire suppression system installation 1 The meter must be free of any obstructions, and its installation is not affected by elevation. When placed on-site, it should be positioned against a wall.

b. Fire suppression systems should not be installed in the following locations:

①: Near clear water, at the source of the fire;

②: Near air inlets, exhaust outlets, doors, windows, and other openings;

③: Areas prone to rain, watering, or flooding;

④: Evacuation route;

⑤: Areas frequently subjected to vibration, impact, or corrosion.

c . Underground protective areas and bottom‑storey protective zones without windows or with fixed windows shall be equipped with mechanical ventilation systems.

d. The protected area should not have any openings; if openings are unavoidable, an automatic closing device shall be installed. When this is impractical, compensatory measures for leakage through the openings should be considered, and the extinguishing agent dosage should be increased to account for such losses.

e. The non‑energized enclosures of all components and equipment in the fire‑extinguishing system shall be reliably grounded, and measures to protect the system from interference caused by lightning‑induced surge currents shall be provided. For example, wiring for heat detectors and smoke detectors, as well as the activation leads of the fire‑extinguishing devices, shall use twisted‑pair cables or two‑core metallic shielded cables.

f . Wiring diagram for the thermal aerosol device; installation and mounting methods are shown in Appendix II.

g . In a protected zone, multiple aerosol‑generating devices are connected to the gaseous fire‑extinguishing control panel; their activation signal lines shall be wired in series, while the feedback signals shall be wired in parallel (the temperature‑controlled switch shall use normally open contacts).

①. The thermal aerosol device’s start‑signal terminal is equipped with a short‑circuit protection feature. , Remove during actual use.

②. The wiring for the thermal aerosol device’s activation signal shall use a conductor diameter of φ. 1.5m2 Multi-strand copper‑plastic wire, to reduce line resistance.

h 1. Inspection of the main body of the thermal aerosol device:

Medication dosage verification: Compare the dosage indicated on the product label affixed to the side of the container with the design specifications to ensure compliance.

i , Thermal aerosol device resistance and circuit testing:

1 ). Thermal aerosol device resistance measurement:

①. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the start‑signal wiring board; the measured value should be within ± of the resistance value specified on the certificate affixed to the side of the enclosure. 0.5M Approximately Ω is acceptable. The resistance measured between pin ③ and the housing (self-tapping screw) is all 0 ; The resistance between pin ① or pin ② and the housing (self-tapping screw) should be 50M Above Ω.

②. Feedback signal wiring terminal block: The resistance measured between pins ④ and ⑤ should be 50M The above (the normally open contact of the temperature control switch); the resistance between pin ① or ② and the housing (self-tapping screw) should be 50M That is all.

2 ). Thermal aerosol device circuit testing (as shown in the figure below)

When testing the wiring, after connecting all thermal aerosol devices, disconnect the start-up wire from the gas‑extinguishing control panel. Set a multimeter to the ohms range and measure the resistance between the two wires; if the measured resistance matches the total resistance of all devices in the protected zone, the wiring is functioning properly. A very high or infinite resistance indicates poor contact or an open circuit in the wiring. The resistance at the start‑up terminal can be calculated using the following formula:

R=R Single *N

R : for the total resistance

R Single: For a single device, the resistance is 2.0~3.0 Omega

  N : For the number of units

2. System Debugging

Note: During controller commissioning, terminals 1 and 2 of the start-up circuit must be disconnected; during transportation, terminals 1 and 2 of the start-up circuit must be shorted.

System commissioning may proceed only after the aerosol generator has been verified to be functioning properly.

a. When commissioning the interlock, the device’s start-up wiring must be disconnected, and an electronic igniter should be connected to the start‑up output terminal on the gas fire‑extinguishing control panel. (If no electronic igniter is available, a conventional igniter may also be used.) DC24V (replaced by a small relay), when the gas fire suppression controller is activated , Once the preset start‑delay time has elapsed, the electronic igniter activates (or the relay energizes), indicating that the gas fire‑extinguishing control panel’s interlock function is operating correctly. Otherwise, the gas fire‑extinguishing control system must be inspected. (Wiring diagram shown below.)

3. Acceptance

a Once the aerosol fire‑extinguishing system has been installed, a final acceptance inspection must be conducted. Upon successful acceptance and commissioning, the installation contractor shall verify that the automatic fire alarm system and the load output terminals of the start‑up module are free of any start‑up voltage before connecting the load and putting the system into formal operation. After normal operation has commenced, the system must not be interrupted without authorization.

b Following project acceptance, the “Aerosol Fixed‑Type Fire Suppression System Project Acceptance Report” shall be completed in triplicate: one copy shall be retained by the employer, and two copies shall be provided to the contractor (one of which is to be submitted to the fire‑safety inspection center). The acceptance report is attached hereto.

4. Maintenance

a Once the aerosol fire suppression system is commissioned and operating normally, it requires virtually no maintenance; maintenance is only necessary when the gas‑fire‑extinguishing control panel reports a load fault, at which point the initiating circuit should be inspected.

b Regularly inspect the area surrounding the thermal aerosol device for any obstructions; if any are found, remove them immediately to ensure the device operates properly.

c For the gas fire suppression alarm control system, please follow the maintenance and servicing procedures provided by the manufacturer of the gas fire suppression controller.

d Once the aerosol fire suppression system is commissioned and put into normal operation, its service life is seven years. Upon expiration of this period, the user shall contact the supplier for replacement.
